Sound: Skins

In the opening scene of Skins dialogue is used to show stereotypical views of teenagers and adults. When the boy puts on the loud rock music the father enters the room and begins to shout at him, showing frustration and anger. This suggests the stereotypical view that teenagers frustrate adults due to their inconsiderate nature (loud music). The words used by the man consist of taboo and slang terms, showing that he is of a lower class. A lot of sound is also amplified in the scene, such as the girls' footsteps, the unrealistically loud music and the dialogue, which could suggest that the relationships between the characters is war-like and 'explosive' in nature.
